About the Ojibwe Baker

Allison Palmer: Ojibwe Baker

Aaniin! Boozhoo! Hello!

Allison nindizhinikaaz Anishinaabekwe Mnjikaning First Nation nindoonjibaa.

My name is Allison. I am Anishinaabekwe from Mnjikaning First Nation (Chippewas of Rama First Nation). I am a self-taught baker living in Toronto who has found their passion in creating delightful cupcakes, and I am excited to share my love of baking with you.

Baking is more than just a job for me; it's my happy place. When I'm not working, you'll often find me in my cozy kitchen, lost in the enchanting aroma of freshly baked goods. With my favorite tunes or captivating podcasts playing in the background, I joyfully dust my counters with flour, transforming ordinary ingredients into delectable treats.

My journey as a baker has been an adventure I started while completing my studies at Toronto Metropolitan University, where I earned a B.A in Psychology. It all began with baking for my beloved family and friends. Along the way, I honed my skills by working in various esteemed bakeries throughout Toronto. These experiences have shaped me into the creative and passionate baker I am today.

At my small business, I specialize in crafting custom cupcakes that bring sweetness and joy to any occasion. Whether it's a birthday celebration, a seasonal event, or a corporate gathering, I am dedicated to making your vision a reality. Each cupcake is lovingly made with attention to detail, ensuring a mouthwatering experience that will leave a lasting impression.

I believe in giving back to my community and supporting causes that are close to my heart. That's why I have established meaningful relationships with Indigenous organizations and non-profits, including the Native Canadian Centre of Toronto, Imagine Native, Anishnawbe Health Toronto, and Wigwamen. I have also partnered with institutions such as the City of Toronto, York University, and the University of Toronto. By collaborating with these esteemed institutions, I strive to foster connections and create positive change in our society.

I am grateful for your support, which allows me to pursue my sweet dreams and continue doing what I love. Together, we can indulge in the irresistible pleasure of cupcakes while making a difference in our community. Miigwech, thank you, for joining me on this delicious journey!
